Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Chinese New Year Extravaganza is an event celebrating Chinese New Year with the youth and the public. Every year, we strive to promote different aims and purposes through our events.

In this honourable 6th year of Chinese New Year Extravaganza, our event “Heirloom: The Spirit” aims to encourage the public, especially the new generation, to remember and appreciate the contributions of our ancestors. Due to the severe cultural loss we are facing, we hope that the younger generations will have a better understanding of our traditional culture and the importance of learning them.

Therefore, this year, despite the pandemic, we decided to raise the public’s awareness of the inheritance of traditional Chinese Culture. We will present you with a series of fun activities on our social platforms concerning Chinese cultural inheritance.
